Nupur Dance Academy

was founded by Late Smt. Sova Nandi in 1972. She was the student of Pt Shambhu Maharaj from Lucknow Gharana. She started dance teaching in Kathak, Rabindra Nritya, Folk Dance and Some Movie & modern song dance. She was a good choreographer in that time & made many dance dramas.

Not only she was a dancer but also, she was an educationist and obtained M. Sc. Degree in Mathematics from Patna University in 1972. Afterwards she devoted her life in dance. She gave her last breath during dance choreograph among students in 10th November 2014.

She started 1st time Rabindra Jayanti celebration in open forum Chandannagar strand (Bank of The Ganges – Ganga River). Also, she started first time Dolutsab (Celebration of Holi) through dance language at Chandannagar city and celebrate Nanda Utsab in her school.

In the Year of 2015, Nupur Dance Academy started its journey at Bangalore to promote Indian Classical Kathak dance, Rabindra Nritya, Creative Dance, Folk & Modern dance by Dr. Rupa Nandi (h.c).
